Congratulations USCA Judge Deb Krsnich
Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege and opportunity to earn a permanent judge’s license in this great organization. USCA has been my sport home from my start in 1988, when I trialed for DPO1 with my dual-purpose patrol dog, a German Shepherd called Eros. We competed in the 1988 and 1990 WPO Championships, and went on to earn our SchH3. In 1990, we attended the Landes Polizei Schule fur Diensthundfuhrers in Stukenbrock, Germany and added a PSP title for him, and instructor certification for me. At that time I was the first female to attend the training, and only the third American.
I have a background in a variety of canine activities, and love to see those aha! moments in learning. I have shown dogs in conformation through USCA, and also UKC, trained and titled our Small Munsterlander Pointers in NAVHDA, titled 2 dogs to Mondioring1, and as part of the Wi-TF1, trained and certified two dogs as Live-Find USAR dogs, Type1/CE. I trained dogs for Law Enforcement until 2019. I judge nosework, and 4H obedience. Some of my greatest satisfaction has come from training dogs for, and with, autistic children.
From the start, I met wonderful and supportive people who have become life-long friends. The guidance and respectful judging that I encountered is something I hope to share with the people who trial under me. When I retired from Law Enforcement in 2006, I was able to have the time to give back to the organization in this way, and hopefully inspire others as I have been inspired. I have now earned 99 titles in schutzhund with 19 different dogs, competing in club, Regional and National Championships. I have competed with German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Doberman. I continue to be active in competing. I am currently President of my club, Fox Valley Police and Schutzhund Club, the North Central Region Director and Legislative Chair in my local AKC club.
I happen to believe that I am part of an organization filled with talented and dedicated individuals, who find joy in being dirty/hot/cold/tired with their dogs who aspire to improve those relationships through training. I am blessed to observe the fruits of their labor, and I thank you all for that opportunity.
