EB Ballot #26-18 Approve bid from Piedmont Schutzhund Club to host the 2019 Sieger Show
Motion by Michele Clubb, Secretary, on behalf of the Event Planning Committee and seconded by Michele Scarberry, NBW, on behalf of the BAC to approve the bid from Piedmont Schutzhund Club to co-host the 2019 USA Sieger Show October 11-13, 2019.
Background: The Events Planning Committee received three bids for the 2019 Sieger Show. Two of the bids came through the BAC and had their support.
#1 – Submitted by Primer Planning Partners to hold the event in Gurnee, IL. This event did not have a co-host club associated with the bid and relied on high school volunteers and the BAC to run event and plan from a distance so there was no local club to assist.
#2 – Submitted by OG Edgerton. The NBW had several conference calls with the club and felt they were competent in hosting the large event.
#3 – Submitted by Piedmont Schutzhund Club. The NBW also had conference calls with the club and felt they also were competent in hosting the large event. The president of the club is USCA Apprentice Conformation Judge Richard Shook. Piedmont Schutzhund Club has also held several other breed shows (GSD, Rottweiler and Bulldog).
The Event Planning Committee reviewed all bids and agree that Piedmont Schutzhund Club should be awarded the bid to co-host the 2019 Sieger Show.
The BAC also asked that the event be held on October 11-13, 2019 as this would allow our President/DOJ the availability to attend the WUSV meeting that is typically held the 1st weekend of October and all USCA Regional events would be concluded, allowing more USCA members to attend the event without missing out on a Regional event. Hosting the event during this time frame a test run for USCA and to see if a fall date works for our membership and help increase the number in attendance.
