EB Ballot: # 20-19 – Amend the BOI recommended sanctions regarding USCA member Christopher Thompson
Motion by Michele Clubb, Secretary, and seconded by Mark Chaffin, Regional Director, to amend the BOI recommended sanctions regarding USCA member Christopher Thompson
Amended Sanctions: USCA member Christopher Thompson shall not be permitted to seek or hold any leadership position within USCA, including but not limited to: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Judges, National Breed Warden, Director at Large, Regional Director, teaching helper, teaching tracklayer or member of a committee.
Background: BOI charges were filed against USCA member Christopher Thompson for actions that are unsportsmanlike and detrimental to USCA.
The BOI committee recommend a permanent “lifetime probation” on Christopher Thompson’s USCA membership. USCA Bylaws do not allow for such a consequence as it is not outlined or defined in our Bylaws or any rule / regulation. The EB based its decision on the BOI finding that “based on the evidence received, the Board of Inquiry considers the Judge’s Committee’s decision to permanently revoke Chris Thompson’s USCA Judge’s License was correct, his behavior did violate the Judge’s Code of Conduct.”
After discussions with the EB, it is recommended that the amended sanctions be presented to the EB for a vote.
