QUALIFYING FOR WORLD COMPETITION

For the year 2002, any USA member who is also a member in good standing with a USA club is eligible to compete for a place on the World or FCI Team. This competition is open only to German Shepherd Dogs. Please read the rules and instructions printed in the magazine. All candidates must send their completed paperwork to the USA Office with a postmark no later than March 17, 2002.

The selection process involves taking an average of the candidate's two highest scores from three eligible trials: The USA Nationals (from 2001), the German Shepherd Dog Championship, and the North American and FH Championship. The seven highest qualifiers will be selected as members of the 2002 USA World Team, with the seventh member serving as alternate and Assistant Team Captain. The next highest qualifiers in line will be selected to participate in the FCI Championship, the actual number to be determined by the AWDF. Any vacancies on either team will be filled by using the average scores of the remaining candidates. All selections are subject to the review and approval of the Committee.

United Schutzhund Clubs of America
2001 WUSV Team Announcement

Due to the tragic events of September 11th, the United Schutzhund Clubs of America WUSV team members have chosen to remain at home with their families during this troubling time and will not be competing at this year’s championship in Maribor.

With the impending action of the United States government and the unknown factors faced with traveling abroad during such action makes travel to Europe simply not practical.

We all understand the effort and sacrifice that each team member makes to achieve a placement on the WUSV team and the difficulty faced in this unanimous decision.

The United Schutzhund Clubs of America supports the decision of its team and wishes the WUSV, and our sports friends from around the world the best of luck at this event.

We look forward to seeing you all next year at the 2002 WUSV Championship in Austria.
