Advertising in the Schutzhund USA Magazine
Disclaimer

is responsible for any claims made by advertisers, the timeliness of
the publication of those ads or any consequential damages as a result
of errors, timeliness or misunderstanding of information published in
the ads. Statements made by writers in this publication are not

NEW ADVERTISING SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (1/10/01)
A new “computer to plate” system is in place for printing our
magazine.
All advertisements designed by the advertiser must come in digital
format via e-mail or on disk (mailed to the USA office), and all ads
must come with a hard-copy proof (faxed or mailed). We recommend that
you fax a proof before sending us the electronic file. Every ad will
be checked to ensure that it follows Schutzhund USA advertising
guidelines. In-house Design by Cheryl Morris is available and is
recommended if the advertiser does not have the following programs ––
QuarkXpress 3.31 (preferably 4.1), Adobe Pagemaker 6.0 or higher
versions, or Adobe Photoshop (300dpi, TIF). Payment: Credit card
information can be included with the e-mail or a check can be sent to
the USA office. Payment must be received at the time the proof is
received. Sending by e-mail: If sending the file by e-mail, in the
subject line put “Ad – (issue & year) – your name,” example “Ad –
Jan/Feb 01 – Bob Morris.” In e-mail body, explain type of file (if
Quark, fonts used, etc.), size of ad (full, ½, ¼, etc), and form of
payment (check to office information or credit card number).

Due to the increasingly high amount of unsolicited
spam received by my email address, I was forced to go on high spam
alert. That means if you have not advertised with us before and you
are not in my email address book, a prompt will be sent back to you
for you to request to be put in my address book. It is very quick and
simple to do. For me to accept your email, you will need to put in
your reply message that this involves USA advertising.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Cheryl Morris, USA Art Director
1. Files need to be created in QuarkXpress 3.31 (preferably 4.1) or
Adobe Pagemaker 6.0 or higher versions. Files can also be created in
Adobe Photoshop (300dpi, TIF).

file. Black and white proofs can be mailed or faxed. Color proofs must

Quarter- 3.7/16 x 4.3/4
4. Do not colorize imported graphic files. (These will appear correct
on the rainbow proof but will not image properly on the plate.)
5. Do not create duotones with PMS colors. (These will appear correct
on the rainbow proof but will not image properly on the plate.)
6. All bleeds should extend 1/8” beyond final trim.
7. Use only PostScript fonts, preferably Adobe.

9. Include any font used by an imported graphics that you have not
converted to outlines.
10. All color or graphic files must be supplied in a single channel
EPS or TIFF format.

12. Build spreads as facing single pages.
13. Do not send any low-resolution (fpo) images. Only send files that
you intend to be used for high-resolution output.
14. Supply all supporting EPS and TIFF files used in your files. We
would prefer that you do not embed images into your files. 15. We
recommend that the background of a TIFF image (in QuarkXpress) be set
to either white or 0% of black, this will eliminate possible jagged
edges on your images when printed to a high-resolution output device.
